Frontend Engineer

Catalyst is a Customer Success Platform (CSP) built by an experienced group of industry leaders. Whether our customers are managing a few large enterprises or hundreds of smaller accounts, Catalyst adapts to their workflow intelligently to help them build meaningful, human relationships.

The Role

Currently, we are looking for Frontend Engineers who can skillfully build our UI/UX while fostering the engineering culture and process as an early employee. Our tech stack consists of Vue.js, Ruby on Rails, PostgreSQL, and Elasticsearch on AWS. If you thrive in an early startup environment or are simply looking for more ownership and the ability to have a large impact, we would love to meet you.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with product managers, designers, and engineers to build enterprise-ready products
  • Design and implement high performance, reliable, and scalable systems, while balancing optimizing now vs later
  • Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code
  • Participate in peer code and design reviews
  • Take ownership of projects and display high reliability and accountability
  • Design, build, and maintain business-critical products used by real businesses

Must-Have Requirements

  • 3-5 years of Javascript experience developing enterprise web applications.
  • Basic understanding of CSS pre-processing platforms, such as LESS or SASS
  • Proficiency with one of the 2 major reactive web frameworks (React or Vue)
  • History with one of the major flux pattern implementations (Redux, Vuex)
  • Good understanding of asynchronous request handling, REST architectures, partial page updates, and AJAX
  • Experience working in a test-driven development environment
  • Familiar with Agile methodologies
  • Keen eye for strong UX and a history of working with design systems

Nice-to-Have Requirements

  • Experience with Ruby on Rails and a willingness to traverse the full stack
  • Experience with Webpack
  • Basic understanding of GraphQL and Typescript
  • Experience with relational databases such as PostgreSQL
